The Cayenne E-Hybrid Coupe can drive on battery power alone for up to 14 miles. The RS Q8 must run its internal combustion engine to move.
The Cayenne Coupe’s standard fuel tank has 1.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the RS Q8 (23.7 vs. 22.5 gallons).
The Cayenne Coupe Turbo has standard air brakes, which adjust the spoiler automatically during high-speed braking in order to shorten stopping distances. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer air brakes.
For better traction and acceleration, the Cayenne Coupe has larger standard rear tires than the RS Q8 (305/40R20 vs. 295/40R22). The Cayenne Coupe’s optional rear tires are larger than the largest rear tires available on the RS Q8 (315/35R21 vs. 295/40R22).
The Cayenne Coupe’s optional 315/30R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the RS Q8’s 35 series tires.
For better maneuverability, the Cayenne Coupe w/Rear Wheel Steering’s turning circle is 8.4 feet tighter than the RS Q8’s (35.1 feet vs. 43.5 feet). The Cayenne Coupe’s turning circle is 3.7 feet tighter than the RS Q8’s (39.8 feet vs. 43.5 feet).
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 850 pounds less than the Audi RS Q8.
The Cayenne Coupe is 3.1 inches shorter than the RS Q8, making the Cayenne Coupe easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
The front grille of the Cayenne Coupe uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.
Unlike the driver-only memory system in the RS Q8, the Cayenne Coupe offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle and climate settings and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.
The Cayenne Coupe’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The RS Q8 does not have an oil pressure gauge.
Consumer Reports® recommends the Porsche Cayenne Coupe, based on reliability, safety and performance.
The Porsche Cayenne outsold the Audi Q8/RS Q8 by 44% during the 2020 model year.
