Safety Comparison

Both the F-Pace and Levante have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The F-Pace has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Levante’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The F-Pace R-Sport/S’ driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Levante doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

The F-Pace has standard InControl, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Levante doesn’t offer a GPS response system, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the F-Pace and the Levante have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, available crash mitigating brakes, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty Comparison

The F-Pace comes with a full 5 year/60,000 mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24 hour roadside assistance. The Levante’s 4 year/50,000 mile basic warranty expires 1 year and 10,000 miles sooner.

The F-Pace’s corrosion warranty is 2 years and unlimited miles longer than the Levante’s (6/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Levante.

There are over 50 percent more Jaguar dealers than there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the F-Pace’s warranty.

Engine Comparison

The F-Pace S’ standard 3.0 supercharged V6 produces 35 more horsepower (380 vs. 345) than the Levante’s standard 3.0 turbo V6.

Fuel Economy and Range Comparison

On the EPA test cycle the F-Pace with its standard Diesel engine gets better fuel mileage than the Levante with its standard engine (26 city/33 hwy vs. 14 city/20 hwy).

On the EPA test cycle the F-Pace gets better fuel mileage than the Levante:

3.0 Supercharged/Auto

18 city/23 hwy

14 city/20 hwy

3.0 twin turbo/Auto

18 city/23 hwy

14 city/19 hwy

3.0 twin turbo S/Auto

Regenerative brakes improve the F-Pace’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Levante doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Tires and Wheels Comparison

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F-Pace offers optional 22-inch wheels. The Levante’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so your trip isn’t interrupted by a flat. A full size spare isn’t available on the Levante, it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which limits mileage and speed before replacement.

Chassis Comparison

The Jaguar F-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 500 to 750 pounds less than the Maserati Levante.

The F-Pace is 10.7 inches shorter than the Levante, making the F-Pace easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the F-Pace S is quieter than the Levante S:

At idle

40 dB

51 dB

Passenger Space Comparison

The F-Pace has 1.9 inches more front shoulder room and 2.6 inches more rear legroom than the Levante.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the F-Pace’s available rear seats recline. The Levante’s rear seats don’t recline.

Cargo Capacity Comparison

The F-Pace has a much larger cargo area with its rear seat up than the Levante with its rear seat up (33.5 vs. 19.4 cubic feet). The F-Pace has a much larger cargo area with its rear seat folded than the Levante with its rear seat folded (63.5 vs. 57.3 cubic feet).

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the F-Pace easier. The F-Pace’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 30.5 inches, while the Levante’s liftover is 31.7 inches.

The F-Pace’s cargo area is larger than the Levante’s in almost every dimension:

Length to seat (2nd/1st)

Max Width

Min Width

Pressing a switch automatically lowers the F-Pace’s rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The Levante doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

Ergonomics Comparison

The F-Pace Prestige/R-Sport/S offers an optional heads-up display which projects speed and other key instrumentation readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Levante doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

If the windows are left down on the F-Pace the driver can raise them all using the key in the outside lock cylinder. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from outside the vehicle using the key in the outside lock cylinder or the keyless remote. The driver of the Levante can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F-Pace offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Levante doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To direct the driver from any location to a given street address, a GPS navigation system is available on the F-Pace. The F-Pace’s navigation system also has a real-time traffic update feature that offers alternative routes to automatically bypass traffic problems. (Service not available in all areas.) The Levante doesn’t offer a navigation system.

The F-Pace R-Sport/S’ optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Levante doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
