The G90 has a standard 360-degree Multi-view Monitor to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The LS Series only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the G90 and the LS Series have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available all wheel drive.

For its top level performance in all IIHS frontal, side, rear impact and roof-crush tests, its standard front crash prevention system, and its headlight’s “Acceptable” rating, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety grants the G90 its highest rating: “Top Pick Plus” for 2017, a rating granted to only 53 vehicles tested by the IIHS. The LS Series has not been fully tested, yet.

The G90 comes with a full 5 year/60,000 mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24 hour roadside assistance. The LS Series’ 4 year/50,000 mile basic warranty expires 1 year and 10,000 miles sooner.

Genesis’ powertrain warranty covers the G90 4 years and 30,000 miles longer than Lexus covers the LS Series. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the LS Series ends after only 6 years or 70,000 miles.

The G90’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the LS Series’ (7 vs. 6 years).

Genesis pays for scheduled maintenance on the G90 for 3 years and 36,000 miles. Genesis will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Lexus only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the LS Series.

There are over 48 percent more Genesis dealers than there are Lexus dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the G90’s warranty.

The battery on the G90 is in the trunk, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures which can degrade battery life. By keeping the G90’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The LS Series’ battery is in the hot engine compartment.

For better traction, the G90 has larger tires than the LS Series (F:245/45R19 & R:275/40R19 vs. 235/50R18).

The G90’s 245/45R19 front and 275/40R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series front and 40 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the LS Series’ standard 50 series tires. The G90’s tires are lower profile than the LS Series’ optional 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the G90 has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the LS Series.

The G90 has standard front and rear gas-charged shocks for better control over choppy roads. The LS Series base model’s suspension doesn’t offer gas-charged shocks.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the G90’s wheelbase is 7.5 inches longer than on the LS Series (124.4 inches vs. 116.9 inches). The G90’s wheelbase is 2.7 inches longer than on the LS Series LWB (124.4 inches vs. 121.7 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the G90 is 1.1 inches wider in the front and 1 inch wider in the rear than the average track on the LS Series.

The G90 3.3T AWD handles at .85 G’s, while the LS 600h L AWD pulls only .75 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The G90 5.0 executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the LS 600h L AWD (26.7 seconds @ .68 average G’s vs. 27.5 seconds @ .65 average G’s).

The G90 has a much larger trunk than the LS Series (15.7 vs. 13.9 cubic feet).

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the G90’s trunk can be opened just by waiting momentarily behind the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The LS Series doesn’t offer a hands-free gesture to open its trunk, forcing you to put cargo down if your hands are full.

The G90 has a standard heads-up display which projects speed readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The LS Series doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The power windows standard on both the G90 and the LS Series have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the G90 is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The LS Series prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.

The G90’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The LS Series’ power mirror controls are on the dash, hidden behind the steering wheel, where they are awkward to manipulate.

The G90 has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold Winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the LS Series.
