The Corvette has standard OnStar ®, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to get turn-by-turn driving directions, remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The 570S doesn’t offer a GPS response system, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Corvette and the 570S have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Corvette 2 years longer than McLaren covers the 570S. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the 570S ends after only 3 years.

The Corvette’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the 570S’ (6 vs. 5 years).

The Corvette’s optional 6.2 V8 produces 22 lbs.-ft. more torque (465 vs. 443) than the 570S’ 3.8 turbo V8. The Corvette Z06’s standard 6.2 supercharged V8 produces 88 more horsepower (650 vs. 562) and 207 lbs.-ft. more torque (650 vs. 443) than the 570S’ 3.8 turbo V8.

An engine control system that can shut down half of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Corvette’s fuel efficiency. The 570S doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Chevrolet Corvette uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The 570S requires premium, which can cost 20 to 55 cents more per gallon.

The Corvette has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 570S doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

For better traction, the Corvette has larger front standard tires than the 570S (F:245/40R18 & R:285/35R19 vs. F:225/35R19 & R:285/35R20). The Corvette Z06/Grand Sport’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the 570S (F:285/30R19 & R:335/25R20 vs. F:225/35R19 & R:285/35R20).

The Corvette Z06/Grand Sport’s 285/30R19 front and 335/25R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 570S’ 35 series tires.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the Corvette can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The 570S doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Corvette’s wheelbase is 1.6 inches longer than on the 570S (106.7 inches vs. 105.1 inches).

The Corvette’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the 570S’ (42.1% to 57.9%). This gives the Corvette more stable handling and braking.

The Corvette Z06 Coupe handles at 1.19 G’s, while the 570S pulls only 1.05 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Corvette’s turning circle is 3 feet tighter than the 570S’ (37.7 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

The design of the Chevrolet Corvette amounts to more than styling. The Corvette has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .29 Cd. That is significantly lower than the 570S (.35). A more efficient exterior helps the Corvette go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the Corvette get better fuel mileage.

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the Corvette Stingray Coupe is quieter than the 570S:

The Corvette Auto has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The 570S doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

When two different drivers share the Corvette, the optional memory system makes it convenient for both. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle. The 570S doesn’t offer a memory system.

The Corvette’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge – which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The 570S does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Corvette offers an optional heads-up display which projects speed and other key instrumentation readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The 570S doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Corvette’s optional rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The 570S doesn’t offer the luxury of automatic dimming mirrors.

The Corvette offers optional heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the 570S.

Optional air conditioned seats in the Corvette keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The 570S doesn’t offer air conditioned seats.

To direct the driver from any location to a given street address, a GPS navigation system is available on the Corvette. The Corvette’s navigation system also has a real-time traffic update feature that offers alternative routes to automatically bypass traffic problems. (Service not available in all areas.) The 570S doesn’t offer a navigation system.

The Corvette was selected by Automobile Magazine as their 2014 Car of the Year. The 570S has never been chosen.
