The Corvette has standard OnStar ®, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to get turn-by-turn driving directions, remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer a GPS response system, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Corvette and the 488 GTB have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control and electronic stability systems to prevent skidding.

Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Corvette 2 years longer than Ferrari covers the 488 GTB. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the 488 GTB ends after only 3 years.

The Corvette’s corrosion warranty is 3 years longer than the 488 GTB’s (6/100,000 vs. 3/100,000).

There are almost 169 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Ferrari dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Corvette’s warranty.

An engine control system that can shut down half of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Corvette’s fuel efficiency. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Chevrolet Corvette uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The 488 GTB requires premium, which can cost 20 to 55 cents more per gallon.

The Corvette has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

For better traction, the Corvette Z06’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the 488 GTB (F:285/30R19 & R:335/25R20 vs. F:245/35R20 & R:305/30R20).

The Corvette Z06’s 285/30R19 front and 335/25R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series front and 25 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 488 GTB’s 35 series front and 30 series rear tires.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the Corvette can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The design of the Chevrolet Corvette amounts to more than styling. The Corvette has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .29 Cd. That is significantly lower than the 488 GTB (.324). The Corvette Auto offers a remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Corvette’s optional easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back when the door is unlocked or the ignition is switched off, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

The Corvette offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and other key instrumentation readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Corvette’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The 488 GTB’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

The Corvette offers optional heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the 488 GTB.

Optional air conditioned seats in the Corvette keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer air conditioned seats.

The Corvette has a standard center folding armrest for the driver and front passenger. A center armrest helps combat driver fatigue. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer a front seat center armrest.

The Corvette’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The 488 GTB doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

To direct the driver from any location to a given street address, a GPS navigation system is available on the Corvette. The Corvette’s navigation system also has a real-time traffic update feature that offers alternative routes to automatically bypass traffic problems. (Service not available in all areas.) The 488 GTB doesn’t offer a navigation system.
