The S4 has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The C63 Sedan doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.
Both the S4 and the C63 Sedan have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, available crash mitigating brakes, blind spot warning systems and rearview cameras.
The S4’s corrosion warranty is 8 years and unlimited miles longer than the C63 Sedan’s (12/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).
On the EPA test cycle the S4 Auto gets better fuel mileage than the C63 Sedan (18 city/28 hwy vs. 18 city/25 hwy).
For better traction, the S4’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the C63 Sedan (255/35R19 vs. 245/40R18).
The design of the Audi S4 amounts to more than styling. The S4 has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .3 Cd. That is lower than the C63 Sedan (.32) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the S4 get better fuel mileage.
As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the S4 is quieter than the C63 S:

The S4 has .9 inches more front headroom, .2 inches more front shoulder room and .4 inches more rear headroom than the C63 Sedan.
Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the S4 to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The C63 Sedan doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.
The S4 was chosen as one of Car and Driver’s “Top Ten” for 2 of the last 12 years. The C63 Sedan has never been a Car and Driver “Top Ten” pick.
The S4 was selected by Automobile Magazine as their 2010 Car of the Year. The C63 has never been chosen.
