The F-Type’s optional blind spot warning system uses digital cameras monitored by computer to alert the driver to moving objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. The GranTurismo doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

To help make backing safer, the F-Type’s optional cross-path warning system uses wide-angle radar in the rear bumper to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The GranTurismo doesn’t offer a cross-path warning system.

Both the F-Type and the GranTurismo have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control and electronic stability systems to prevent skidding.

When the F-Type is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The GranTurismo’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.

The F-Type offers optional automatic dimming rear and side view mirrors which automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The GranTurismo has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

On extremely cold Winter days, the F-Type’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The GranTurismo doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The F-Type’s standard GPS navigation system has a real-time traffic update feature that offers alternative routes to automatically bypass traffic problems. (Service available in a limited number of metro areas.) The GranTurismo’s navigation system doesn’t offer real-time traffic updates.
