The Corvette has standard OnStar ®, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to get turn-by-turn driving directions, remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The 911 doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Corvette and the 911 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, plastic fuel tanks, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control and electronic stability systems to prevent skidding.

Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Corvette 1 year and 50,000 miles longer than Porsche covers the 911. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the 911 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

Chevrolet pays for scheduled maintenance on the Corvette for 2 years and 24,000 miles. Chevrolet will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Porsche doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the 911.

An engine control system that can shut down half of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Corvette’s fuel efficiency. The 911 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Chevrolet Corvette uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The 911 requires premium, which can cost 20 to 55 cents more per gallon.

The Corvette has 1.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the 911 RWD/Turbo/GT3’s standard fuel tank (18.5 vs. 16.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Corvette has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 911 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

The Corvette Auto offers a remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior.
