Both the DB9 and the 6 Series have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control and electronic stability systems to prevent skidding.
The DB9 comes with a full 3 year/unlimited mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24 hour roadside assistance. The 6 Series’ 50,000 mile basic warranty expires sooner.
The DB9’s 5.9 DOHC V12 produces 195 more horsepower (510 vs. 315) and 127 lbs.-ft. more torque (457 vs. 330) than the 640i’s standard 3.0 turbo 6 cyl. The DB9’s 5.9 DOHC V12 produces 65 more horsepower (510 vs. 445) than the 650i’s standard 4.4 turbo V8.
The DB9 has 2.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the 6 Series’ standard fuel tank (20.6 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.
For better stopping power the DB9’s standard brake rotors are larger than those on the 6 Series:

6 Series |

Front Rotors |
15.7 inches |
13.7 inches |
Rear Rotors |
14.2 inches |
13.6 inches |
The DB9 has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The 6 Series doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.
For better traction and acceleration, the DB9 has larger rear tires than the 6 Series (295/30R20 vs. 245/45R18).
The DB9’s 245/35R20 front and 295/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 640i’s standard 45 series tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the DB9 has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the 640i.
For better maneuverability, the DB9’s turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the 6 Series’ (37.7 feet vs. 38.4 feet).
The DB9 is 7 inches shorter than the 6 Series, making the DB9 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces. The DB9 is 7.2 inches shorter than the M6 Convertible.
The DB9 Coupe has .7 inches more front legroom and 2.4 inches more front shoulder room than the 6 Series Coupe.
